In the opening phase of the tournament, August 10th – September 3rd, up to 256 teams will compete in group play matches with up to 8 teams per group. The top team from each group, 32 groups in all, will advance to the double-elimination finals bracket running from September 10th to October 8th.

Apparently every client has to have an identical search key to connect.

The trick is for the lobby leader to issue the following into the console

ms_force_dedicated_server “68.232.166.80:27015″

or put that line in your autoexec.cfg – we tried putting it in the config.cfg but steam cloud kept clearing it out!

I’ve rented a L4D dedicated server in the Dallas location of Gameservers.com, uploaded the official CEVO configs (which the newegg tourney is using) and I *think* set it up such that you have to be in the Deft with Lead steamgroup (or at least 1 person in your lobby does?) in order to use it.
